Why remote works even over this distance
The classic objection is “we need somebody nearby”. Usually that is a feeling rather than a fact. If we honestly go through a year of activity - patches, monitoring, user support, configuration changes, updates, backup tests, licence management, audits - then 95 percent of it is perfectly doable without being physically present.
What does have to be physical:
- Network cabling for new builds or moves
- Hardware replacement after a critical failure
- On-site workshops on strategic topics, where video calls are not enough
We plan those as defined blocks. Day to day is no different from working with a local provider - except that we do not put travel on the invoice.
What northern German clients come to us for
Modern cloud strategies. Many Hanseatic mid-market companies have historically been on-prem focused. We support the move to cloud without dogma - Azure and Microsoft 365 where it makes sense, Hetzner and open source where they fit better.
Logistics IT around the main platforms. We do not work inside DAKOSY or ATLAS themselves, but on the network, the endpoints, the mobile driver connections and the integration between forwarding software and client systems.
Agencies and creative service providers in Hamburg have the same remote workflow challenges as their southern and central German counterparts - large files, distributed teams, strict client NDAs.
Associations, chambers and federations. The north has a dense landscape of these. We support several - usually with Nextcloud-based setups and mail infrastructure tailored to independent organisations.

FAQ.01You are based in Neu-Isenburg. How do you work with a client in Hamburg?
Remotely for 95 percent of the work. We are in the north several times a year - for larger projects, annual reviews and workshops where needed. In between, everything runs over remote access, Teams and documented work in Git.
FAQ.02Does that really work for us?
Very few IT tasks need physical presence. The ones that do (pulling cable, replacing hardware, supervising a new build) we plan as defined on-site blocks. The rest runs just as well as with a local provider - often better, because we do not bill travel time.
FAQ.03What if our server in Hamburg fails?
First diagnosis remotely, usually in under 30 minutes. If physical intervention is needed we have a framework - spare hardware on site with you or shipped by courier, guiding your IT staff or a partner service technician through the work. For critical systems we recommend high-availability setups where a single failure does not stop operations.
FAQ.04Do you know the port of Hamburg and the logistics world?
We have clients in freight forwarding and trading companies with EDI and customs interfaces. The rail and shipping logistics platforms themselves (DAKOSY, DAKOSY-ZAPP and similar) are specialist territory - we work around them.
FAQ.05Are there references in the north?
Yes, though they are harder to activate than in Rhine-Main. We have northern German clients willing to be contacted, and we pass on suitable names in the intro call.
FAQ.06How often do you actually come to northern Germany?
Two or three times a year for visits to existing clients, plus more for larger individual projects. That is less than for Rhine-Main clients - but more than many of our clients notice after a year of working together.
